Conference Wide Hasenkampf, Clare [1]. Teaching Philosophy and Teaching Portfolios - Creating and Using One. Teaching Philosophies and/or Portfolios are an increasingly common requirement for job applications and promotions. A well focused Teaching Philosophy and accompanying Portfolio also can help us more efficiently and effectively teach, and improve our teaching practice. This workshop will unpack the nature and requirements of a teaching philosophy and portfolio. The first part will consist of a two hour session that is a mixture of seminar-style information delivery and active learning activities. The learning objectives are: -Explore what a teaching philosophy and portfolio are -Become motivated to develop them -Learn about resources to help in creating yours Attendees are welcome to bring drafts of their portfolios. After a brief break when Part I concludes, we will break into groups to give feedback to those who have brought drafts of their portfolios or who are willing to start the process of creating a Teaching Philosophy.
