CALL FOR RECENT TOPICS POSTERS
BOTANY & MYCOLOGY 2009 represents the annual meeting
of five professional societies, including the Mycological Society of
America (MSA), the Botanical Society of America (BSA), the American
Society of Plant Taxonomists (ASPT), the American Bryological and Lichenological
Society (ABLS), and the American Fern Society (AFS). The conference
will be held at Snowbird, Salt Lake City, Utah from July 25-29, 2009.
All who are interested in plant biology are invited and
encouraged to attend and present some aspect of their scholarly and/or
educational work at BOTANY & MYCOLOGY 2009
Submission of regular abstracts for the conference closed
on 1 April 2009. This Call announces a poster session for BOTANY & MYCOLOGY
2009 with an extended abstract submission deadline. ‘Recent Topics’ posters
are designed to accommodate research results that may not have reached
fruition by the April deadline or may have only recently come to light.
Recent Topics posters will fit onto bulletin boards that
are 4 ft tall and 4 ft wide.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
(DEADLINE: FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED OR JULY 15, 2009)
Submission of abstracts should be conducted online at
the BOTANY & MYCOLOGY 2009 web site: http://www.2009.botanyconference.org.
For each abstract, the submitting author will be asked to submit the
following information:
• names, institutions, e-mail addresses, and
postal addresses for each author
• abstract title
• abstract narrative (limited to 300 words)
• keywords or key-phrases
• related web links (optional)
• uploaded files (optional)
Electronic copies of the abstract submission will be sent
by e-mail to the submitting author and the BSA Program Director. Abstracts
will be accepted beginning on June 15, 2009 on a first-come, first-served
basis until all available poster slots for the conference are filled.
Space is limited. The absolute deadline for receiving abstracts is July
15, 2009
The same individual should not be a first author on more
than three abstracts total for the conference. At least one abstract
author must be a member of one of the participating societies or have
a paid conference registration by the time of submission for the poster
to be accepted.
